Blog EntryGod is Fair!Apr 26, '06 4:26 AM
for everyone

God is really fair.. Everyone in their lifetime seems to have to endure at least 1 event or another. For me, it will be putting on braces.. After so many years of consideration, I have finaaly decided to do it.

I went for an extraction today. Had to pull out 2 healthy teeth in order to put on braces.. Surprisingly it only took Dr Yeo 5 min to pull these 2 teeth. The only pain I had to endure up to this point is only the injection.

Now, 3 hours after the numbness has gone off, the fearful pain didnt come. Lucky me.. I can't take painkiller so you can imagine how painful it woul be for me if the after effect is painful.. Now I'm looking forward to Sat when I would putting on the braces. Then I will face the world with steel as my smile for 2 years.

for everyone

22 Dec 2005.

What a rainy evening! Training still continues but tonight's slightly different. We are having telematches at the track (Thanks to Kenneth1 and Jan). Tot it was going to be fun. Indeed it was but it was more challenging than our normal running. We had to do wheelbarrow, shuttle run, star jumps, and caterpillar (sit-ups). Had lotsa laughter especially Ms Junie. Happily cheering and laughing at our silly stunts. My team won. Hee, got a Santa Claus hat and chocs. The last 2 teams were good sport. They held hands together and sang Xmas Carol while doing the last stint. Good one!

The makan session at the club was great! Thank you, Louis for the chix and Jan for the log-cake. :) and oso not forgeting the choir of the night. (Ah Thye, please go brush up ur do-ray-me)

As usual, we had food, fun and entertainment. Next, I will be looking forward to the BIntan cycling trip...

for everyone

Die ah.. Very gan cheong... Sure cannot make it for my swim later... These were the tots going through my mind before stepping into NIE.

It was fun.

Swimming in queenstown really helps. At least the pool in NIE has no current so it's actually easier to swim there. Clocked 13 min for my swim. Not too bad, by far my personal best... But not that fast la..

When I first got out of the pool, my legs went weak and I almost fell.. Luckily I didn't.    Stitch struck me shortly after I started running. Shit man.. How to continue! Cant 'throw face' and so I pressed into my sides (As is it help?!) and went on.. THe slopes in NTU was like: OH man, when is it going to end? I ran past a helper and asked : Hey is it finishing soon? Her reply: Erm...(Scratched head) should be... My world went collapsing.. (No la. kidding!) Anyway, no matter how tired I was, at the track, I braced myself up and 'cheong ah'...

Many thanks to our swimming coach-Nicko and Mingy who's always trying to help.. and the rest of the swimming gang who's always there.. Next event to look forward: NB Corp Tria...

Blog EntryBali (Indulgence after Rinjani)Oct 19, '05 10:11 PM
for everyone

What's the best way to indulge yourself after the climb in Rinjani or rather 4 days of not bathing? SPA IN BALI!

All of us were dying for a good bath after 4 days in the mountains... Once we found a place to stay, what's the first thing we do? Fight for the bathroom... Ok, I have finished my scrubbing already. Then I heard Diana screaming... SHit, no water!  No water, what can be worse than this riht now? Luckily it was only a false alarm..

Spa. Supposedly a must-do in Bali. Body massage, leaving us 'naked' on the bed with the door half open, sea salt that feels like sandpaper on my body, facial scrub that scrap off every single dead cells or even live cells, and not forgetting the cold petal bath that was used by Sharon before that. What an experience!

The daily private sarong party was unforgetable. Hmmm.. but can't say more here, we made a pact to leave what happened in Bali in Bali.. So it's up to u to imagine .. hee

The beach was great.. Fine sand, strong waves... Talking about strong waves, my bikini almost dropped when we were throwing ourselves against the waves. Gotta adjust in the water before I emerge

Padi field. The only thing I can remember was the hot sun. But the great company I was with really made the most out of it.. Despite the hot sun, they still managed to have fun..

This trip was made memorable with the group of fun and gungho people.. It's really the company that counts! Thanks friends!

Blog EntryRinjani.... Oct 19, '05 9:44 PM
for everyone

It was quite courageous of us to attempt the trip to Lombok with the Ring of Fire so active just a couple of months back.. But who cares? Say some.. If it's gonna happen, it will happen... So there we were...

The scenary was simply breathtaking, and so was the climb (definitely breath-taking)! The 4 days of trek saw us through different kind of landscape. There's rich rainforest, lotsa greeneries, European look-alike, turqoise crater lake that looks like you have reached paradise, hot springs, and finally the volcano ashes, and then there was the descent that don't feel like we were descending. Why the hack didn't we go up this way??? Oh ya, there was the elves who ran past us making me feel as though I'm the hobbit in LOTR..

The beauty of Rinjani, that I cant describe in words, nor can you view it enough in pictures, you really have to be there yourself to indulge in its beauty.

Note: Please do not attempt the climb without 'wet tissue'.

Blog EntryMy 24th Big DayOct 19, '05 6:07 AM
for everyone

Ever since I crossed my 20th birthday, every year of my 20s seemed to pass faster and faster and faster. And now, gosh.. I'm good old 24... Know that there will be some thinking (u know who you are), you call yourself old.. what about us? But I am getting older what...

I had my first celebration with my sistas in Safra.Sweet of them! We had a nice evening dining at Fosters... Yummy! Nice ambience, nice music with the nicest sistas! Thought the food was so-so, it's the company that counts.

My second celebration was held at Bedok Reservoir. What am I doing there? Celebrating my brithday with monkeys? Ya... my dearest monkeys from Safra. Many thanks to all the bros and sis who made the effort to remember... So what were we doing there? It's SAVA Sprints 2005.

After the race at Bedok Reservoir, we went on to TCC at this 'ulu' place, opposite Sun Plaza. Excellent location for a great performance coming on... Hee  As the birthday gal, I requested for the 'four musketeers." (CHeck out the pictures!) to do a half-monty dance with the paddles... Took like 1 hour to bargain for an exchange of action. FInally, they agreed. What a performance. Had lotsa laughter... Was actually quite intimidated when they got close..Too bad the pictures did not capture the moment.. haha.. In return, Jan and I had to perform a 10 seconds 'touch of lips'. That was quite a bargain.. Anway, I had a great time laughing but was left with a hoarse voice at the end of it..Thanks guys!

Here comes the actual day. Nice surprise from Jan.. Flowers delivered to office. Then was a dinner with my beloved.. We had a quiet dinner at this Japanese place: Honji. Trust me, don't ever try this 1 for 1 buffet thingy again. It was the first time that I actually stopped at the first plate of sashimi in a buffet. Can you believe it? Walking along quiet Shenton Way was good for digestion of a 'not so good' dinner. We stopped at China Square Centre. Great place for hanging out. There's the fountain, the music, the seats, no crowd... and best of all, no need to spend money, other than drinks from 7-11..

I simply love my life. Great friends, loving boy boy, understanding family, fun activities.. What more can I ask for.. hmmmm.... maybe money?
